FAQs
Quiet answers for choosing, brewing and keeping whole-leaf Chinese tea. If you are new to Longjing or Anji White Tea, begin gently: good water, a little patience, and leaves with room to open.
Tea and Origin
What kind of tea does Indulgence Green offer?
Indulgence Green focuses on whole-leaf Chinese tea selected for clarity, softness and everyday elegance. Our current collection includes Longjing Green Tea, Anji White Tea Tender Leaf Selection, and Anji White Tea Stem & Leaf Selection.
Is Anji White Tea actually white tea?
Anji White Tea is a Chinese green tea from Anji, Zhejiang. The name comes from the pale colour of the young tea leaves during early spring growth, not from the white tea processing category.
What makes Longjing different from other green teas?
Longjing, also known as Dragon Well, is traditionally pan-fired. It is known for flat leaves, a clean golden-green liquor, a soft roasted note and a rounded, calm finish.
Brewing
How should I brew these teas?
Use freshly boiled water that has cooled slightly. For most green teas, 75-85 C works well. Start with 2-3 g of leaf per 200 ml of water, steep for 2-3 minutes, then adjust by taste.
Can I brew the same leaves more than once?
Yes. Good whole leaves often open beautifully over several infusions. The first cup is usually the most aromatic; later cups become softer and more rounded.
Do I need a special teapot?
No. A glass cup, small teapot, gaiwan, or infuser all work. The most important thing is to give the leaves enough space and avoid water that is too hot.
Choosing Tea
Which tea should I choose first?
Choose Longjing if you like a classic green tea with a gentle roasted character. Choose Anji White Tea Tender Leaf Selection if you prefer a soft, delicate, low-bitterness cup. Choose Anji White Tea Stem & Leaf Selection if you want a fuller, more layered daily tea.
Are the sample sizes suitable for first-time drinkers?
Yes. Samples are intended for slow discovery before choosing a larger size. They are also useful for comparing Longjing and the two Anji White Tea selections side by side.
Storage and Care
How should I store the tea?
Keep tea sealed, dry, cool and away from light, heat and strong smells. Green tea is delicate; once opened, enjoy it steadily rather than keeping it for a long time.
Should I refrigerate green tea?
Only if it can remain fully sealed and protected from moisture and odours. For daily use, a cool cupboard away from the stove is usually safer.
Orders and Gifting
Can I send tea as a gift?
Yes. Whole-leaf Chinese tea is well suited to quiet gifting: personal, refined and useful. For larger gifts or tasting sets, the luxury box and discovery options are designed for a more complete experience.
Do you offer tea samples for businesses or collaborators?
Yes. Please use the Tea Sample Request page to tell us about your venue, studio, brand, event or content project.
